"I LOVE THAT THERE IS NO ONE WAY TO FAMILY AND EVERY STORY IS SO UNIQUE."

Hey,

 I'm Cris

I believe images should be about preserving the real, raw essence of family life.

Photography for me is a journal. I don't just want a photograph of what it looks like. I want to feel it all over again.

Everyday moments

Documentary Storytelling Photography

Unscripted.

Beautiful.

Authentically you.

Thats the essence of documentary family photography

Family life is a story unfolding -- sometimes-- it is messy. Other times it's quiet, or joyful. And it's always moving. As a Tulsa, Ok photographer. These are the moments I live for.

The real stuff. The things we usually rush through or don’t give much thought to while we’re in it. But later? They are the memories that hit the hardest.

WHAT IS DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOGRPHY

It's a relaxed, unposed way of photographing your family - no staging, no forced smiles, none of that "hey everyone look over here." I'm simply with you, watching for the real moments as they naturally unfold.

The ordinary things become the good stuff:

  • the pancake mornings
  • the shoes piled by the door
  • backyard chaos
  • the small routines and traditions that feel everyday now, but wont always.

"OMG! I love them so much! Why did these make me cry?"

Common concerns I hear often

What if my house isn’t pretty?

The point of these images is that they’re a reflection of your life — a memory to look back on. I promise you won’t look at your photos years from now and think, “Wow, my house was ugly.” You’ll more likely appreciate it for what it was: the place where your life was happening.

I don’t have a lot of natural light in my house. Can we still do a session?

Yes — you’ll just need some kind of light. Lamps, ceiling lights, candles… any light will do. Honestly, finding the light is one of my favorite parts of these sessions — challenge accepted. We’ll work together to make it work. Or we shoot outside in the backyard.

If this feels like your family -- the noice, the love, the mess, the little in-betweens -- then I'd be honored to photograph it for you. Bring the chaos, I'll bring the camera
