I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Every family is different and that’s what makes documentary family photography sessions shine!
Just an ordinary Thursday evening, but for this farm family, "ordinary" means the daily chore of feeding the animals. together. And I guess we can use the words “chores” loosely.
Chickens, pigs, and cows surround this families existence and you can see and feel all the love woven into their farm lifestyle photography session.
That's the beauty of real-life family photos -- they capture the people you love, but the essence of home.
When I arrived, one of the kiddos was still finishing nap time. And guess what? It did not impact the session one bit.
Big brother went around with mom and dad “helping “ with chores. Their rhythms, their life. Son wanting to make dad proud…. But also getting distracted with sand toys by the barn.
Grandma joined in too, helping keep the chickens cool -- a perfect reminder that multi-generational family sessions tell such a rich story.
It wasn’t long till the littlest one woke up, joining in full toddler goodness.
We loaded up the ATV to feed the cows, and the golden light pouring over the field was magic. And do you know whats better than cows in a field at sunset?
Watching kids do what only true farm kids do --
sneaking bites of feed pellets.
Pure Pastoral Bliss
This is what I love most about documentary family sessions on the farm -- they're real and raw, yet still absolutely beautiful. No posing, no forced smiles. Just the real story of your family, lived out in the most ordinary but meaningful ways.
